Harris Moore has become a local legend in Bucolic Islands, north of Seattle. He is a suspect in about 50 cases of burglary in the past 18 months since he escaped from a halfway house on April 2008.
He has embarrassed the local police by trying innovative methods of burglary.
This 18 year old stealthily breaks into vacation or business homes which are unoccupied and strikes at the right opportunity. If he is confronted, he speeds off to the woods, barefoot. That is what got him the nickname- The Barefoot Burglar.
A dozen empty pizza boxes near an abandoned house made the police patrol suspicious so the next time he placed an order he was nabbed by the police. The police have got hold of his photograph, which he had clicked himself on the 8th of July 2008.
Apparently after consulting flying manuals and flying simulators, he learned a few lessons in flying planes. He than stole three small airplanes and crash-landed. He has also stolen thousands of dollars from ATMs and safes. He is sharp and calculative. The advantage he has is that the local police neither have enough man power nor Sniffers, which makes his escape easier.
He was 12 when he was first broke into a local school and by the time he was a teenager, he had been caught around eight times. But when he was nabbed in an unoccupied house, and sent for four years in a detention centre, and later, to a halfway house, he eventually escaped and is still on the run with the Washington police hopelessly looking for him.
The Sheriff Mark brown wants Harris caught at the earliest as he is creating havoc.
