When terror reaches your neighbor’s door it is time for you to bolt yours.
The ongoing spate of attacks unleashed by the extremists in our neighborhood is a cause of great concern. It is a red alert.
The recent onslaught of terrorism in Pakistan is a very serious threat to us. Although our security has been beefed up and our forces, all geared up for a befitting reply to anybody who dares venture in our territory.
As the situation in Pakistan is getting out of hands our Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has alerted the armed forces to be vigilant as “situation seems to be worsening in the neighborhood.”
The Taliban outfits with Hakimullah Mehsud as their chief have threatened to fight India after converting Pakistan into an Islamic state.
In the annual combined commander’s conference, where the PM was addressing the top military brass, he said, “There are regular intelligence reports of imminent attacks in the country. This is a matter of deep concern, and there is no room for complacency.
He further added that, “There are both State and non-state actors involved in the business of terrorism. India is a democracy and an open society and is, therefore, sometimes highly vulnerable.”
Not just our forces it is the duty of every citizen in a democracy to be vigilant. It is the ability to deal with non-traditional threats that is to be prioritized. Threats like theracket which was recently busted in Kerala where young gullible girls from the Hindu and Christian communities were being targeted. They were lured by Muslim boys by feigning love and then forced to convert. Around 4000 such cases had been brought to light. It is them we need to fight with.
The prowler moves amongst us in disguise. He needs to be hunted out. We as responsible citizens can join hands with our forces. While they protect us from external threats we can fight on the internal front and destroy it.
