Barack Obama’s Sister Maya Soetoro NG

Maya Soetoro is the child of Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian businessman, and Ann Dunham, a white American cultural anthropologist, who was also Senator and presidential potential, Barack Obama’s mother. She was named after American singer adn writer Maya Angelou. Like her half-brother, Soetoro attended the private Hawaiian school Punahou. She is an alumna of Columbia University. She also later received her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa.

Soetoro is married to Konrad Ng of Burlington, Ontario, Canada, a Chinese Canadian assistant professor at the University of Hawaii’s Academy of Creative Media. Marriage took place in Hawaii. They have one daughter, Suhaila. Soetoro-Ng is a Buddhist.
