Baseball Player Eri Yoshida

Eri Yoshida is an ambitious girl with a dream and if you happen to be in her way, I suggest you get out of the way immediately. Cuz she might just run over you to achieve her goals.
Eri Yoshida is a 16-year-old Japanese schoolgirl who always dreamed of emulating Red Sox knuckle baller Tim Wakefield, and guess what. She is setting her sights on becoming the first female pro baseball player in Japan.
The high school student was drafted on Sunday by the Kobe 9 Cruise, a pro team in a new independent Japanese League set to begin its inaugural season in April.
Its amazing what some folks are capable of. She is of an age when girls are mostly thinking about boys, make up, dressing up etc.
Why don’t you guys wish her good luck below!
Last Monday, the right-handed knuckleballer met with reporters in Tokyo. Watch her youtube video interview that I have posted below.
Unfortunately the video is in Japanese so its good only for sights and foreign sounds. I couldn’t make out a single word in there except that there is some level of fascination being expressed for the 16 year old lassie Eri Yoshida.

In the video she’s saying she’s glad to be in the situation, and she was surprised to be selected by the team. She’s 155cm tall, and throws a sidearm knuckleball. She was selected by the Kobe 9 Cruise of the Kansai Independent League, scheduled to debut in Spring of 2009. The guy next to her in the press conference said, “She throw’s underarm with a knuckleball that wiggles as it drops. I think she’ll be valuable to us.” Then she says, “I want to be like the knuckleballer Tim Wakefield of the Boston Red Sox.”

Awesome! Thanks a lot. She is very pretty so I guess the sponsors will be running to her just like Anna Kournikova perhaps.
