It seems that Director David Slade has invited trouble by his disparaging comments made about the series “Twilight”. And now he is regretting the same. Sending an email to one of the largest websites of Twilight fans, Twilight Lexicon, with unacceptable comment about Twilight was something that would have attracted trouble. David Slade is the director of the third film by the franchise called “Eclipse”.
David is howling his apologies to the Twilight fans and he further explains that he said so without any intention, as he was just promoting a movie that he has made for Xbox. He said that he hasn’t been able to see the original film; neither had he had the chance to read the books. Whatever he said shouldn’t be taken to the heart and that he was just being silly. Now, after the incident he claims to have seen the movie and have read the books as well. He appreciated the richness of the story telling and the beauty with which the character of Stephanie Meyer was sketched.
Film.com went a step ahead by archiving the audio clip on Sunday, from the BDK movie show that materialized on WJFK in Washington DC, where in David Slade commented on the “Twilight”
Clearly he is regretting his attract. As when he was asked about the movie that he was going to watch, his obvious answer was aiming at the famous vampire. His Twitter account has some negative comments as well, that stand deleted now making it evident that he has realized his loose tongue around Twilight.
In a note today he appeared to the fan base saying that his endeavor to make the best movies humanly possible and he understands the power and grace of the original books.
Kellan Lutz, an actor who plays the character of Emmett Cullen, on of the vampires in the series said supporting David Slade that if he didn’t like see and liked Twilight doesn’t make him less talented. And the entire propaganda around it was just not required. Further he appreciated David Slade’s work around “Eclipse” and credited him for the great vision he has brought in.
