Question To ‘Your Baby Can Read‘ Mom:

Do you know anyone that has bought and used Your Baby Can Read? I am just wondering if it’s really worth spending money on? It looks pretty amazing but my fiance doesn’t think it could really work that well or that fast. I am thinking about getting it for our 15 month old for Christmas.

My husband bought it for my baby shower and at 3 months, we started showing it to our baby (our baby was born at 8 months, so MDs say she may start at a developmental level similar to a child of 3 months when she is 4 months).

She seems to like to look at the video at times, and she falls asleep watching it, but now after a month when it comes on, she seems to recognize some sections of the video and smiles in response. It works, but you must be consistent. you have to play the video at least twice a day.

Sometimes I nurse her when I play the Your Baby Can Read video if she gets fussy and does not want to be in her seat to “listen” to it. I find it worth it, and we get to spend quality time together learning- they also have interactive games to play with the child when they are older. I would say it is worth the money if you know you will have time to sit with your child and watch it yourself and help your child act out the words, so they keep entertained.
