Smith- The Robber Who Came To Pray

Gregory smith, who had been jobless for one year got desperate and entered ‘Advance America’ a store at Indianapolis, jumped behind the counter and pointed a gun at the clerk. The clerk was aghast and she started crying.

And then something strange happened. The robber started consoling and hugging the clerk, saying that he would not harm her. He even emptied the bullet from his pistol to assure her. But as the lady wept asking him to leave her in the name of God, the thief who had come to rob the place, became remorseful, hugged her and knelt down to pray with her.

‘The praying robber’, as he was nicknamed after this incident became the talk of the internet.

He hated doing this, he told Angela Montez the female clerk, but he needed the money for his 2 year old and his girlfriend as times were hard and he could not support them.

As the police watched from a distance, they saw him speak to the clerk for about 30 minutes and as suddenly as he had come, he grabbed the clerk’s cellphone and $20 from the cash register and left immediately. But later turned himself in when his mother saw him on the news.

He is now in jail and has vowed never to rob again.

Smith is a heating and air technician who has been jobless for the past one year, with a 2 year old daughter and a girlfriend to support. He also claims to have been in the US Air Force for four years.

Dennis Earl Bradford Nabbed

It is believed that justice delayed is justice denied. But as for Jennifer Schuett, though there was a delay of 19 long years, justice was at last meted out to her.

It happened 19 years ago. It was a dark night. Jennifer, the eight year old was fast asleep in her bed, when a man crept inn her room through the bedroom window. As she recollects, she woke up and found herself in a stranger’s arms, as he carried her through a parking lot.

He took her to an overgrown field and sexually assaulted her. When the little girl regained consciousness, her throat was slit from ear to ear, and her voice box ruptured. As she lay on an ant hill, undressed, bleeding profusely, she was noticed by some children playing in a nearby field, fourteen hours later.

Dennis Earl Bradford the assailant, who had raped her ,slit her throat and left her to die, thought that he had very easily got away with it. But destiny had something else in store for him.

On 7thOctober 2009 an affidavit was filed in Texas. The case was reopened after 19 years. The Dickinson Police Department, requested the FBI for a repeat DNA test, as modern advances in this field could probably help them in cracking the case. The extracted DNA profile exactly matched a DNA profile already present in the FBI’s database.

Besides the artists sketch made on Jennifer’s description exactly matched Dennis Bradford’s picture on his driving license. Bradford was arrested and charged with attempted capital murder.

Bradford is currently in police custody in Pulaski County , Arkansas, awaiting extradition.

Terror Attacks Continue in Pakistan

Pakistan has been reeling under militant attacks since the last week.Five people were reported killed in a suicide attack in UN’s Islamabad office on the 5th of October, followed by another bombing in Peshawar on the 9th of October, which killed 49 people.

The third attack followed the very next day on the 10th of October in which 19 people were reported killed in a raid on Army Head Quarters, Rawalpindi.

And now these fresh attacks in Alpurai, which has killed 41, took place today in the early afternoon. Just as the convoy of troops was passing through the market place, a car blew up near a hospital injuring scores of people including security personnel.

Earlier this year when the military tried to free Swat from the clutches of Taliban, they had arrested many high profile Taliban leaders including Muslim Khan their spokesperson while their leader Maulana Fazlullah is still on the loose.

All this goes to prove that though the Swat valley is now under military control yet the presence of militants there cannot be absolutely ruled out. In fact the militants have hit back hard at them which means that the military should take quick actions.

As for the national consensus, the repeated attacks by the militants have to be curbed and for that the army should launch an operation as fast as possible to flush out the militants completely.

As of now Pakistan has a great threat at hand.

Angel Valley Resort-The Death Trap

When the mind is exhausted and the body longs for rest, people find an escape—A place where they can relax and shed their fatigue, which is a safe haven for rejuvenation.

Angel Valley Resort is one such retreat in Sedona (Phoenix) where people had gathered for such ‘rejuvenation’, but what followed was horrendous.

Around fifty people were seated in an outdoor ‘sweatbox’, a sauna, for about two hours, when they suddenly started feeling faint headed and giddy. Around 21 people were shifted to hospitals in planes and helicopters, of which two were pronounced dead! While three of them are critical.

Isn’t this a tale of horror? Investigations are still on. Authorities are trying to know the recent medical history of those affected. Besides an expert team is also investigating for any presence of harmful contaminants or gases like carbon monoxide, etc.

It is only after such accidents occur that one’s attention is drawn towards the lapses that we tend to overlook in our daily life. Let this incident be an eye- opener for other health resorts and retreats, so that such mishaps are averted in future.

Colton Harris Moore-The Barefoot Burglar

Harris Moore has become a local legend in Bucolic Islands, north of Seattle. He is a suspect in about 50 cases of burglary in the past 18 months since he escaped from a halfway house on April 2008.

He has embarrassed the local police by trying innovative methods of burglary.

This 18 year old stealthily breaks into vacation or business homes which are unoccupied and strikes at the right opportunity. If he is confronted, he speeds off to the woods, barefoot. That is what got him the nickname- The Barefoot Burglar.

A dozen empty pizza boxes near an abandoned house made the police patrol suspicious so the next time he placed an order he was nabbed by the police. The police have got hold of his photograph, which he had clicked himself on the 8th of July 2008.

Apparently after consulting flying manuals and flying simulators, he learned a few lessons in flying planes. He than stole three small airplanes and crash-landed. He has also stolen thousands of dollars from ATMs and safes. He is sharp and calculative. The advantage he has is that the local police neither have enough man power nor Sniffers, which makes his escape easier.

He was 12 when he was first broke into a local school and by the time he was a teenager, he had been caught around eight times. But when he was nabbed in an unoccupied house, and sent for four years in a detention centre, and later, to a halfway house, he eventually escaped and is still on the run with the Washington police hopelessly looking for him.

The Sheriff Mark brown wants Harris caught at the earliest as he is creating havoc.

Authorities say a 20-year-old man suspected of killing four people in central Virginia is in custody.

A police official said Saturday that Richard Alden Samuel McCorsky III was arrested. Richmond International Airport spokesman Troy Bell says McCorsky was caught at the airport, apparently trying to catch a flight to California.

Bell says airport police officers found McCorsky asleep in baggage claim after an airport employee recognized him. He says McCorsky did not resist and apparently had no weapons on him.

Farmville police found four bodies Friday afternoon in a home near the Longwood University campus, about 50 miles west of Richmond.

Brother Speed Motorcycle Club Members in Accident

Around two dozen motorcycle accidents were allegedly cause by Brother Speed Motorcycle Club in Oregon. Two bikers were seriously injured in the accidents and a main highway was closed for several hours.

The Brother Speed Motorcycle Club is a one-percenter motorcycle gang that was formed in Boise, Idaho in 1969, but now has its mother chapter in Portland, Oregon.

Brother Speed was established by a group of high school friends who rode motorcycles together. The friends noticed an increase in motorcycles in the area and decided to run a newspaper ad looking for anyone interested in riding together and starting a motorcycle club.

A meeting was organized with approximately 20 people attending the first meeting. A few weeks after the first meeting, the group came up with the name, “Brother Speed”.

The club’s insignia is a winged skull with sunglasses and its “colors” are black and gold.

There are around 150 Brother Speed members and there are eight chapters spread across Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Utah.

Mexico Subway Shooting

Here is video of the Mexico Subway shooting. The Mexico City Subway shooting resulted from Luis Felipe Hernandez Castillo being stopped by police for placing graffiti inside the subway deck.

Castillo had reportedly tagged on a subway: “Este gobierno de criminales” at 5:1 5 pm last night. When asked to stop, Castillo drew a gun.

Castillo would take the lives of two persons, a bank police officer and federal agent. Now Today Castillo faces counts of attempted murder, aggression, resisting arrest, and disturbing the peace. In total five persons were killed from Castillo’s spree.
