The emergency services from LA are just reporting that Brittany Murphy was called into the Cedars Sinai Hospital and was declared dead on arrival by the staff.

Brittany Murphy’s husband dialed 911 and reported that Brittany Murphy has suffered Heart Attack

Hard to believe that Brittany Murphy who was only 32 years old could die from this.

Was is really heart attack or another case of Drugs Overdose?

Paa Revealed!

It was a closely guarded mission. Even as Big B itched to reveal his looks as ‘Paa’ on his blog, it was kept a secret.

But now Paa’s looks have been revealed. Can you believe the child in this photograph is none other than Amitabh Bacchan.

‘Auro’, that is the role he plays, suffers from a disease in which the child ages at a very fast pace. This disease called ‘Progeria’ is a rare disease in which the child loses all his hair and becomes bald, with veins showing prominently on the head, which is enlarged much beyond its normal size. The teeth and eyes are also affected.

To create these special looks, Mr. Bacchan had to sit for hours at a stretch. Once the makeup started he could neither eat, drink nor scratch his head or ears if it itched. The head and the ears were covered with a silicon coating to give the bald appearance of an enlarged skull. Holes were then drilled into this skull as it hindered his hearing.

It took him 5 hours to get the make-up on, 2 hours to remove it, for 6 hours of work!

To give the look of a child he had to shave off his body hair daily. What an ordeal!

But the hard work has paid.

And what for his thunderous voice? Well Big B the great veteran modulated his voice. To sound like a child he wore a special denture, with extra teeth, which created a lisp and altered his speech. To top it all he has also sung a song in this voice.

The music director Aadesh Shrivastava said, “Don’t ask me how he has managed to do it. I just sat there stunned.”

And as for R Balakrishna, “Paa is not about Big B the star, but Auro the overgrown child.”

The Battle For Custody

The mother plays a very important role in a child’s life. It is she who teaches it the importance of values, the difference between good and bad and the sense to choose between the right and wrong and protects it. But if the child’s safety is at jeopardy, if the mother is not capable of giving her the right upbringing, does she still deserve its custody.

Janine Lindemulder, a porn star, has been fighting a battle with her ex-husband Jesse James and his wife Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock for the custody of her 5 year old daughter Sunny.

Janine was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment for not paying her back taxes which amounted to $200,000. Meanwhile Jesse and his wife had the child’s sole guardianship.

They learnt that when sunny was with Janine, she had violated a court order which said that her child will not have any contact with her new husband, Jeremy James Aikman, who is a criminal.

James and Bullock of accused Janine of being a threat to their daughter as she did not keep good company.

James said in a court statement. “Good cause exists for the court to conduct a review to determine if (Sunny) will be safe with (Lindemulder). She should be restrained from allowing the child around pornographers, drug addicts, guns and firearms, felons and their unsafe environments.

Lindemuler on the other hand is bent upon taking Sunny’s custody. “What gives her the right to take away my daughter? I am the best mother I can be. I absolutely have made horrific choices in the past,” said Janine.

Sandra has no kids of her own and “she loves to be a stepmom to Jesse’s three kids.”

While LindeMuler insists on talking to Sandra as she feels that one needs to communicate before building opinions.

Nicholas Cage- A Financial Wreck!

Miseries do not come alone. One of the highest paid actors, Nicholas Cage is in deep financial trouble. Reeling under $350,000 tax debt, burdened by a $5.5 million in unpaid mortgages and $2 millions in unpaid loans and staggering under $6.3 million in back taxes, Nicholas is broke!

Little had he realized while hiring Samuel J. Levin, to administer his finances and investments in 2001, that the assets he had accumulated to keep his family financially secure, and all his hard earned money will be swindled and he will be forced to sell all his assets and investments incurring heavy losses. Levin’s recklessness and incompetence had led him to face huge tax liabilities.

By the time he realized, he was left with no option but to sell of his properties. He has to part with 2 luxury homes in US and the famous Bavarian Castle.

To add to his woes, the East West Bank filed a lawsuit, of breach of contract against him.

Nicholas has held Levin responsible for his ruin.

On the 16th of October, Nicholas filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles which claimed that Samuel J. Levin, his business Manager had, “Lined his pockets with several million dollars in business management fees while sending Cage down a path toward financial ruin.”

He also added that Levin had committed “gross mismanagement” by involving Cage in “highly risky and speculative real estate investments,” without obtaining appropriate insurance for his investments.

Forty five year old Nicholas Cage started his career in 1981. He has earned world wide acclaim for his performances and has won numerous awards. The Independent Spirit Award in 1989, the Academy award for his performance in ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ and the Toronto Film Critics Association Award in 2002. his other memorable films are Face-Off, Ghost Rider and National Treasure.

‘A Children’s Week Out!’

There could not have been a better date for the commencement of the 16th International Children’s Film Festival than the 14th of November, the Children’s Day.The week long festival will screen 70 films from various countries at the IMAX theatre and 8 different venues in Hyderabad and Secundrabad, although the inaugural and concluding ceremonies will be held at ‘Lalitkala Thoranam.’

This Children’s Film Festival is marked with a difference. For the first time the visually challenged kids will also participate in the festival. Special screenings, withefficient commentators have been arranged for their assistance.

Around 250 child delegates from all over the country will participate in the festival.

Besides watching the best of films the children will also enjoy site seeing, as special arrangements have been made by the tourism department to provide the ‘delegates’ with tourism information kits.

The function will be graced by eminent personalities like the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni who is the chief guest, distinguished film maker and lyricist Gulzar and prominent Hindi and Telugu film personalities.

Child achievers at the National and State level will also be felicitated.

Nandita Das, the chairperson has introduced innovative features like the Golden Elephant in the Asian segment for the first time.

Besides watching films, children will attend workshops, and open for all debates.

The entire schedule was announced by Information and Public Relations’ Minister J Geetha Reddy.

With so much in store for them, the children are definitely going to have ‘A children’s week out!’

2012 Doomsday- A Tempest In The Tea Cup

There is panic as there are speculations in the air, about doomsday. It is believed that with the end of the Mayan Calendar which is the 21st of December 2012, the world will come to an end.

This rumor happens to coincide with the release of Sony’s film depicting doomsday in “2012” which will release next month. This film is based on the prediction that the world will come to an end in the next three years.

This is a promotional gimmick being used by Sony which has also created a fake website. The organization, ‘the Institute for Human Continuity’, scientifically explains the end of the world. The site says that “in 2012 a series of cataclysmic forces will wreak havoc on our planet.” In fact they have even started offering survival kits.

Dr Morrison has been constantly receiving mails from people inquiring about the catastrophe, teenagers being the worst affected of the lot.

Vikki Luya, Sony’s Publicity director, now admits that “it is very clear that this site is connected to a fictional movie. This can be seen in the logos on the site.”

Dr. David Morrison a senior scientist at the institute of Astrobiology NASA has condemned this act and quashed all such rumors.

Shilpa And Raj Engaged

The gorgeous, talented, yogini of Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty is out to add a new chapter to her life. After two and a half years of commitment she is finally getting engaged to Raj kundra, a London based businessman.

Amidst the lights and gaiety of Diwali he proposed to her and they fixed 24th October to be the Divine day.

The ceremony will be held in a very private and cozy function with close friends and family members at their Juhu residence. Shamita, Shilpa’s younger sister is very upset on not being able to attend the most awaited happiness, due to her commitments with Big Boss -3. While Raj’s Sister will soon be joining them along with her family.

The wedding is proposed to be held in Mumbai, while the reception will be held at London.

Shilpa joined films with no film background but it was her confidence that took her miles and today she is one of the most celebrated actresses of Bollywood.

Besides modeling and acting she has been associated with many non-profit organizations.

In 2006 she gave her support to BBC World Service Trust to deal with the problem of HIV- Aids in India. She also acted in a film, in which she portrayed the sufferings and dilemma of AIDS sufferers as this problem really disturbs her.

She also joined the PETA to campaign against the use of animals in circus.

Paris Hilton Infuriates PETA

Paris Hilton-the American socialite, heiress, fashion designer, model, singer, and actress has always been at the epicenter of controversies.

In September 2006 she was arrested and charged for driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% which is illegal in California.

In Jan 2007, it was 36 months probation and a fine of 1,500$, for reckless driving.

Then again in Feb 2007, it was driving with a suspended license, at 70 mph in a 35 mph zone, in the dark without her headlights on.

And now it is her ‘pet pig’. Paris has always been fond of pets. First it was the Chihuahuas, then Ferrets, Kinkajous and now it is her ‘pot-bellied pig.’

The animal rights campaigners are furious at her yet another display of furry friends.

They have accused her of treating them as ‘disposable accessories’.

This outburst came soon after her announcement of adding yet another pet to her small zoo of pets. She had ordered a ‘Royal Dandie’, from Oregan.

Although she is thrilled, her gesture has infuriated the activists of PETA, who have called her a ‘wretched example’ to her fans, for treating her pets as ‘disposables’.

They are neither disposables nor accessories, and should not be treated like ones, reiterated the activists of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (peta).

Amitabh Bachchan, the great Megastar must have had many memorable birthday celebrations, but one can bet the surprise party hosted by Madhu Matena and Sheetal Talwar, producers of his upcoming film, “Rann”, must have been the most unique and ‘off-beat’ of them all.

On the eve of his 67th birthday Madhu Matena and Sheetal invited him on the pretext of a promotional event for the film Rann. In fact the function was held to celebrate his commendable 40 years in Indian film Industry..

On this occasion 40 actors disguised as the famous celluloid characters that have made him immortal, enacted some of his scenes and dialogues, for him. This must have indeed been a great moment of his life.

In her interview one of the producers Sheetal Talwar told newspersons, that, “Mr. Bachchan’s 40- year- old journey in Hindi cinema is exceptional in every sense. He started his career with ‘Saat Hindustani’ in 1969 and that’s where our staged homage begins.”

Some of the characters portrayed were from his memorable characters in ‘Zanjeer’, sholay, Sarkar, Amar Akbar Anthony and ‘Deewar’, etc.

As for finding the people to portray those roles? Well nothing could be easier. With the Megastar’s popularity it was not at all difficult people were more than willing to live the characters, immortalized by the Great Icon of the Indian screen.

Shiney Ahuja released on bail

Bollywood star Shiney Ahuja had been facing trial for the past 4 months for an alleged rape of his maid.

Shiney Ahuja, the man with a grim look started his career in films with Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi’. His stunning stellar performance got him the Best New Comer Award from Stardust and Filmfare in the year 2005.

He was heading steadily towards stardom with a very promising career awaiting him, when suddenly thing took a bad turn. His domestic help accused him of raping her.

The entire film fraternity was horrified at this revelation. People who knew him were affected the most. As for his friends it was unbelievable. They still feel he was framed.

His arrest and imprisonment since June 15th, has been a great setback for his career. He was released from the Arthur Road Jail on October 3rd after a surety of Rs.50, 000 with the condition of not leaving the country without informing. He has been in custody for the past 4 months.

His wife Anupam Ahuja told newsmen that it had been tough for her. Whenever she met him, she had cried in her private moments as he looked miserable and felt low.

After his bail, his producers are fingers-crossed while friends are ready to receive him with open arms.
