Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict, 28, were engaged on Christmas Day, 2006. The two were married at the Four Seasons Resort the Biltmore Santa Barbara in front of 170 guests. Mowry walked down the aisle to a live performance by R&B singer Kenny Lattimore, who sang “For You.”

Is she nervous? “No!” she laughs. “Cory and I, we really built a foundation for ourselves. He’s my best friend. We work really hard at balancing our schedules,” she says. “A perfect example — I had a really hard day at work the other day, and he surprised me with flowers and then a romantic dinner. We’ve been dating seven years, and we still do stuff like that. We let each other know, ‘Yes, we’re working hard, doing what we’ve got to do, but I love you.’”

In fact, Tia says, they press each other forward professionally. “He actually coached me for ‘The Game,’ pushed me to go out for it. I didn’t think I could do it. It was such a different role for me, I really had to work hard.”

You can tell they’re really in love,” says wedding planner Robyn Goldberg of the newlyweds. “[Hardrict] wanted the wedding to be her dream come true.”

Mowry, 29, who starred with twin sister Tamera on the WB series Sister, Sister and is now on the CW comedy The Game, wore a couture wedding gown by Kevan Hall. Tamera, who wore an aubergine gown by Tadashi, served as maid of honor.

The 30-minute outdoor ceremony was followed by a Midsummer Night Dream-style reception in the hotel’s ballroom. Florist Jennifer Katz of Fiori Design created tall iron centerpieces covered in moss and decorated with flowers in different shades of pink. The wedding cake was a four-tiered vanilla and red velvet cake by Cake Divas. Guests danced to the tunes of DJ Michael Hayes.

It was in March when Oprah held a talk show. The topic was ‘Domestic Violence’ and the sufferer was ‘Umbrella singer Rihanna’.

Rihanna had been heavily beaten up by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Oprah took up this topic for her talk show. On hearing Rihanna’s woes she heavily criticized Brown for his act.

“Love doesn’t hurt. If a man hits you once, he will hit you again,” she said.

Brown who shared a good rapport with Oprah, as he was an occasional performer at her ‘Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in South Africa, was annoyed with her comments..

He retaliated by saying, “I commend Oprah on being like, ‘This is a problem,’ but it was a slap in my face. She could have been more helpful, like, ‘Okay, I’m going to help both of these people out.”

Winfrey who stood strongly by her comments said, “Domestic violence is something that I wouldn’t tolerate.”

Winfrey than invited BeBe Winans on her talk show. It was a new ‘American Idol’ styled Karaoke Challenge in which the 47 year old CeCe Winans, (BeBe’s sister), the Grammy Award winner was the judge.

Bebe Winnans had been charged for domestic violence against his wife Debra Winans, this February. He had been arrested in March after his wife lodged a complaint that he had pushed her on the ground in front of her kids.

It was clearly a domestic assault. Then why was he being treated like a celebrity by Oprah who had condemned domestic violence in that very show.

Was it because Winnans was a friend, and she supported his music endeavors, whose song ‘Thank You’ had become the anthem for the show?

After Rihanna’s incident of domestic violence, Oprah had refused Brown on her show. But in Winnan’s case it was different. In her own words, Mrs. Winnan was “hurt by Oprah’s decision to take BeBe on the Show.”

So I suppose you know what the controversy is…

Arundhati Roy Justifies The Maoists

In an interview on CNN-IBN, Arundhati Roy, said that sending a military to subdue the Maoists was not the solution to sort out the differences between the oppressed poor and the government. In fact the solution lay in the states effort to woo the people and their faith, which would take some time.

That could be possible by calling back the army, and cancelling the shoot for self –defence orders, and withdrawing all military and paramilitary operations as they would further provoke the people.

Then solving the key issue would be the next step, which was coming out with all the MoUs that had been signed for the mineral wealth, just the bauxite being worth 4 trillion that is 4 followed by 12 zeros.

She went on to say that “the real fact is that Government wants a war to clear out the forest areas because there is a huge backlog of MoUs in Jharkhand as well as Chhattisgarh that are not being activated”.

She further added that, “My fear is that because of this economic interest the government and establishment actually needs a war. It needs to militarize. For that it needs an enemy. And so in a way what the Muslims were to BJP, the Maoists are to Congress.”

She said that they were justified in taking up arms because of the injustice meted out to them by the government. The government had committed a lot of atrocities on them It had entered their land used their reserves for economic purposes without compensating for it and then had thrown them out of their own land when they tried to retaliate.

In her own words, “ If I was a person who was is being dispossessed, whose wife has been raped, who is being pushed of their land and who is being faced with this ‘police force’, I would say that I am justified in taking up arms. If that is the only way I have to defend myself, there should be unconditional talks with the Maoists.”

Atrocities are being committed on both the sides. There is an army on each side, the oppressed versus the oppressor. The poor vs. the corporate backed rich. No one can be justified for the violence being committed on either side.

Jodies Battle With Drug Addiction

Jodi Lee Ann Sweetin most fondly remembered as Stephany Tanner for her role in ‘Full House’ has been fighting a continuous battle with drug addiction.

She is currently working on her autobiography, in which she has chronicled her downfall, with the use of alcohol and drugs, which began soon after the serial “full House” ended.

In her biography, “unsweetened”, she opens her heart out as she recalls spending endless nights, partying and having all kinds of drugs, even as she created a different picture before the world.

She admits that as she was proceeding to address a sold out college gathering on how she had kicked off her habit, she was high on cocaine, while the people who believed her, were waiting to hear how she had fought, the trials and problems that she, Jodie Sweetin had faced.

Jodie wanted to prove to the world that she is not naïve and innocent as ‘Stephanie Tanner’, the character which had made her immensely popular and a household name. This was the time her addiction began. In 1995 she got into this cycle of drug abuse having crystal meth and ecstasy.

She paid $700 a week, for her addiction, the money she earned from her performances and public appearances.

She once expressed in an interview, “I was selfish, self-serving, insecure, angry and fearful person living a double life. I covered up my problems by pretending to be happy and saying that everything was fine.”

She once drove drunk with her one year old infant daughter Zoie, for which she felt terrible later, and realized that “If you’re not in the right place to get sober, you’re not ready to be a mom.”

She is now fighting a legal battle with her second husband Cody Herpin for the shared custody of her beloved daughter.

When love is what you need most in life you end up doing stuff that is irrational, unexplainable, and unethical. Brooke Hundley did the same.

The 22 year old ESPN Production assistant fell in love with Steve Phillips a successful ESPN baseball analyst and a former Major League Baseball manager, who had a wife and 4 children.

Phillips later tried to end the affair but Hundley could not take it and this graduate from Ithaca College became obsessive and delusional when she realized that she was going to lose him.

In her frantic effort to get him back, she wrote a letter to his wife Marni Phillips, about their relationship, that they had been steady for quite some time and had been meeting occasionally in his hotel suite. She wanted him to talk it out with his wife but he had refused to do so.

She added that she was in fact the real person in his life as she cared for his happiness, and had the right to be with him as both of them could not have him.

She emphasized that she was 22, a young and vibrant lady, just the person her husband would want to be with. She also expressed the desire to meet her and explain things to her.

She later tried to contact his son, identifying herself as his High School classmate, asking him personal questions about his family, his parents and their marital status, or the kind of cars they drove or the sports they were interested in, and as time passed the questions kept on getting more and more personal and awkward. And her pursuits continued.

Phillips son on being questioned recalled receiving many friend requests on the facebook from some Brooke Hundley, which he did not accept as he did not know her. In yet another incident, an unknown car hit their trashcan, while the driver frantically pulled back in their driveway when seen by his mother and him. He later received a message from the same girl that, “she had gone to their house to see how nice it was and got scared when his mother pulled in the driveway.”

The outcome? The family is terrified and Phillip’s wife Marni wants a divorce.

As for Brooke Hundley, does she sound like a person who can harm anybody? For me it is just ‘fatal attraction’ and the fear of losing the man she loves, that has driven her that far.

Probably some love, affection, sympathy and guidance is all she needs.

David Letterman’s Apology

After David Letterman’s bizarre revelation in his late night show, this ‘funnyman’ in his next show apologized for all his flings with his female colleagues over the years.

Although all his relationships had existed before he got married to Regina Lasko, yet the revelations had left his wife very disturbed and ‘horribly hurt’.

He also felt it was his moral duty to apologize to all his female staff for putting up with him in spite of the embarrassment this revelation had caused them.

He added in his late night show on Thursday that if one hurts somebody it becomes his moral responsibility to fix it and he was all set to do just that.

He also wanted to emphasize on the point that all his flings were things of the past and were of no relevance now. He had to disclose them because he was being blackmailed for $ 2 million with a threat of being disclosed to the public.

He also added that, “It’s been a very bizarre experience. I felt like I needed to protect these people. I need to protect my family. I need to protect myself. Hope to protect my job.”

David Letterman, the CBS talk show host, admitted in his late night show, that somebody was trying to extort him for his illicit relations with his female employees. He further added in a bizarre revelation, “Yes! My answer to that is yes.”

David Letterman, who had mercilessly mocked politicians for their illicit sexual pursuits, was heavily condemned by media persons and bloggers for double standards.

These revelations raised the ratings of his show, ‘The Late Show’, by 38 percent, and made him the king of late night shows, beating Conan O’Brien for the first time.

Robert J. Halderman, a CBS newsman, who is the man behind the extortion is supposed to be in deep debt. He tried blackmailing David Letterman for a whooping 2 million dollars, lest he will disclose his illicit relations with his female colleague, Stephanie Birkitt, who worked with him on the same show.

His scandalous disclosure left his audience stunned. Although this exposure has made him more popular amongst the younger viewers, yet people are speculating that this might prove to be a dent in his career in the long run.

Joey Niagra, who actually was Jack Nettles, an undercover cop died from twenty four stab wounds. He got into Jackass and Hooper’s a fight over beer being spilled over the pool table. Rita was with Joey when he came to the biker bar. The fact that Joey was actually Jack, the cop things were not that clear.

Hodges, Mandy and Wendy were asked to get the DNA samples, finger prints & clothes form the bunch and their gals. Because of greasy hands one of the guys couldn’t give the prints, Tanya refused to the DNA sample, to which she was asked to apologize by Hodges. The situation change totally when it was discovered that she like Joey Niagra was also an undercover cop.

Joey Niagra was linked to the death of a prostitute, before CSI realized that he was an undercover cop. It was suspected that the hooker’s death was a kind of ritual for entering the gang. Meth was present is substantial amount in his teeth. Questions around a cop being into necrophilism were raised by Brass.

Brass knew Rita, Jack Nettles’s wife. Both of them dated each other while Jack Nettles was undercover. However, Rita wasn’t aware of the fact that Brass was also an undercover cop. Rita was trying to reach Jack Nettles’s captain so that she could request him to pull Jack Nettles off the story that he was investigating as Jack was apparently turning into some one Rita couldn’t relate to. She communicated the same to Brass and Eckile. Brass was given an opportunity to get of the case but he declined Eckile’s offer.

Ray, rode his fantasy, the motorcycle to get physical evidence, – the knives that were used to kill Jack Nettles. However, using a motorcycle to do so was a little out of place. The reason he gave for using it was that in case you want to catch a mice you have to move like one. Finally he found the all the knives that were used to stab Jack 24 wounds to death.

The conflict interested when Tanya phoned 911 as she saw Jack being attacked and the used phone was with the police department with a footage that had Rita in it. Tanya’s car turned into a fire ball with dynamite as she was released from jail. Does that mean that it was disclosed that she was a cop? Clearly, Rita’s call was more than alerting the bartender about Jack being a cop. He was the gang head, Scratch. CSI was able to locate the biker as Jack’s murdered but couldn’t prove it to be premeditated.

By the end of the episode all were arrested and Scratch commented on Tanya’s death and the Nettle’s case of stopping the shipment was taken care off.

Grey’s Anatomy –Wedding Twist

Grey's Anatomy

Things can’t be that simple when we talk about “Grey’s Anatomy”. A new twist is always expected. The latest episode of ER left every one surprised; one has to be stay tuned to see the mystery unfold.

The episode started with Izzie talking about a wedding that was very beautiful and wonderful. It wasn’t very clear who she was talking to. Later during the episode it was made clear that apparently it was Danny she was talking to about the wedding. Izzie wore scarf and was looking quite pale & ill, for sure this was not the dress rehearsal for Derek and Meredith’s wedding. The mystery is expected would unfold in the later episode. Izzie receives clearance to leave the hospital from Bailey. She gets another vision Denny Duquette that she communicates to Derek and he realizes another tumor that is incurable.

Meredith and Derek, who were anticipating their wedding, thought that they couldn’t cure the cancer so they would let Alex and Izzie, get married instead. So as expected in Grey’s Anatomy another twist was that Alex and Izzie read vows in form of Meredith and Derek’s guest. It was obvious that the guest were a little puzzled to see a wedding couple other than that they expected, Meredith and Derek. Apparently, Alex agreed to the marriage as he though that Izzie had planned it and she has just some time to breathe. It’s assumed that this was not a legal marriage with proper wedding license and stuff, though there was noting said around it.

A twist indeed was anticipated, but would come in form of Izzie and Alex wedding wasn’t expected. The way Meredith wanted to get married to Derek clinging to all that drama; their marriage seemed a little too easy. But that puts another question to the viewers mind that would Meredith and Derek get married ever?

The episode progresses into a situation where in a car full of college students seem to head for their graduation, meet with an accident. They are brought to the hospital and are dying on by one. Most of them were taken care of by George. Owen worked on a girl who was the one of the survives, who wanted to spend her life with a boy who was dead in the same accident.

Whatever said and done the episode was successful get the viewer’s eyes wet with the drama around Alex exchanging vows and the college student dying one after the other.

After all this, the next week season’s finale is certainly awaited.

Celebrity Apprentice – Trace Adkins or Piers Morgan?

The Celebrity Apprentice

The second last episode of The Celebrity Apprentice would get on air on Thursday, with Omarosa waving good bye to the show, leaving the rest to fight. Viewers are not really sticking to some one specific as the contest is now played a different purpose all together, Charity!

Almost after more than 10 tasks, a surprise boardroom would slaughter 2 of the four remaining apprentices. This is supposed to come as a surprise. So we have our fingers crossed for these 2 poor apprentices who didn’t know what the fate had restored for them. The final task would be amazing, in fact The Backstreet Boys would be performing and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson would be around as well, the reason of which is not quite clear though. The last once who got fired in a surprised boardroom episode would be helping Trace Adkins and Piers Morgan in organizing an auction. This is just not another audition but is a big fat celebrity auction.

The stakes are not that high guessing that who amongst the two would win. If you would like to enjoy the episodes let me alert you before you continue to read as who won The Celebrity Apprentice would be disclosed if you read further. You might want to consider reading further, as unrevealing the winner of a show that you are regular at could kill the thrill.

If you were hoping that Trace Adkins wins as he is a better person, he would have had been at the show named as Celebrity Apprentice-Make friends. Unfortunately that was not the case. The show was not about being nice, it was about giving tough competition to the competitors doing every thing possible, which Trace Adkins failed at. The reason that some one would vote for him is because that vote would go against Piers Morgan. Yes! You kind of guessing it right its Piers Morgan who won The Celebrity Apprentice beating Trace Adkins.

Trace Adkins, got good popularity because of the show. Despite being a popular country singer people didn’t know him that well. His popularity was limited to the people who had the similar taste as his in country music. But thanks to The Celebrity Apprentice show that iTunes of “Honkytonk Badonkadonk” are being downloaded. On the other hand Piers Morgan, who might be considered a little nasty by the viewers, did what the game asked for. He understood that making friends wasn’t the essence of the game. He was focused and played the game as per rules. In these 14 weeks, he successfully raised about half a million, which is even more than if we combine what the other celebrities raised in submission. Expecting Trace Adkins to win was a hope against hope.
