The Celebrity Apprentice

The second last episode of The Celebrity Apprentice would get on air on Thursday, with Omarosa waving good bye to the show, leaving the rest to fight. Viewers are not really sticking to some one specific as the contest is now played a different purpose all together, Charity!

Almost after more than 10 tasks, a surprise boardroom would slaughter 2 of the four remaining apprentices. This is supposed to come as a surprise. So we have our fingers crossed for these 2 poor apprentices who didn’t know what the fate had restored for them. The final task would be amazing, in fact The Backstreet Boys would be performing and the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson would be around as well, the reason of which is not quite clear though. The last once who got fired in a surprised boardroom episode would be helping Trace Adkins and Piers Morgan in organizing an auction. This is just not another audition but is a big fat celebrity auction.

 The revenue curves of the pop singer Madonna for the year 2008 looks quite lucrative; with about $100 millions from the tours she made, topped with the various endorsements that she has and not to forget the one million albums that she sold in the US. But then she was in the public eye not because any of the above. She was in the lime light because of “Mercy James”

The 3 year old girl that she wanted to adopt from an orphanage at Malawi attracted attention, there are numerous objections being raised around it.

In fact, James Kambewa, the child’s father also asked the Malawi Law Society to cease the proceeding of the adoption basis that he was the biological father of the child that Madonna was intending to adopt. This case is noting but a clear indication of how people are obsessed with the private life of celebrities like Madonna.

Leonardo and Kate

Titanic sank in 1912, if one couldn’t read about the grand ship that was believed to be unsinkable, and then one must have seen the movie Titanic staring Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet where, Rose (Kate) survived the tragedy and Leonardo DiCaprio died with the sinking ship.

The last scene of the movie could bring tears in the eyes of many. In fact, while watching the movie, it was noticed that the audiences where stunned and silent to see the tragedy of many dying and the unsinkable ship sinking.

The last actual survivor of the tragedy is Millvina Dean, who then was just a 9 week old infant. She is 97 now. She is getting help from the stars of the movie.

As confirmed by Access Hollywood, $30,000 fund has been raised by Leonardo DiCaprio & Kate Winslet with James Cameron, the director of the movie for the last survivor of the ship.

Angels and Demons

The latest of Tom Hanks “Angels & Demons” was premiered in Rome. After the controversies that The Da Vinci Code attracted, Tom’s latest release seems to follow the same pattern with – Angels & Demons. Ayelet Zurer would be his co-actress and Ewan McGregor plays a catholic operative. Dan Brown’s novel, is the source of inspiration for the movie, the director being Ron Howard.

 The movie has attracted controversies already. Vatican has some things to say against the movie. In fact, Hindu’s in India have criticized “Angels & Demons” as well. They have accused the move to have showed a wrong and disturbing aspect of mercantile greed, which was just not required.

American Idol

With the ever growing funds that the American Idol show is making every one think. Despite the fact that the audiences for the show is shrinking but the same is not reflected in the revenue figures for the show.

The way the show is created and how it is progressing, in no time the outlook of the broadcasters and networking agencies would deem to change. Clearly, as per the records of the last three years American Idol has been losing viewers but still it is the top rated television serial.

The show is apparently earning from other deal that it has with ice cream, trading cards, iTunes partnerships, and AT&T. These deals have considerably pooled in for the American Idol profitability.

The financial statements of the 19 Entertainment being the parent company revealed the same.

American Idol

The last week the biggest at the American Idol was not the actual elimination but the people who were lined up combating elimination came as a surprise. Adam Lambert who was almost crowned as the American Idol by the viewers as well as the judges was ironically standing along the bottom three.

Eventually Matt Giraud was ousted. It was surprising to see Adam Lambert instead of Allison Iraheta who is the least popular finalists. However, looking at the history of American Idol, the unexpected should be the expected one, as clearly the last week history repeated itself.

American Idol has shown inclination towards the once who have been growing rather than the once being on the peak early. It’s quite clear that one has to show improvement in order to be out there or else elimination is the way out.

Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson’s 1st show in the last 15 years, at the London’s O2 Arena; it is anticipated that he could earn more that $50 millions from this much awaited 50 show stand.

Burbank, Calif, is the place where the King of the Pop – Michael Jackson has been rehearsing for the last 4 weeks. The 50 show series would start on July 8, 2009. Each show would have the capacity of 15,000 people each and the ticket would be around $115, considering that the gross revenue would go up to $90 million.

Other VIP and secondary sale package would take the figure to more than $100 million. Add another $15 million for the merchandise sales as anticipated.

The deal that Michael Jackson has with the producer/promoter AEG Live would get him about $50 millions form the net sale of the north alone. $20 million production bill is footed by the company.

Paula Abdul

Amongst the other judges Paula Abdul is also nourishing the singling talent of America at the American Idol. At the eighth American Idol season, Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi along with Paula are judging the contest. American Idol has been in news for some reason or the other. The latest elimination of Matt Giraud took every one with surprise. However, Paula Abdul’s mental state of mind in the Tuesday’s show has created controversies around her being drunk on the show.

Paula Abdul has reportedly taken the responsibility of acting a little weird but hasn’t admitted the reason of her being drunk. Ladies’ Home Journal’s June issue revealed that Abdul has a reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome condition for which she has been taking medication. Paula Abdul seems to have been blaming the mediation especially the pain killers she consumes for the weird behavior. It almost confirmed that all the judges would be back the nest season however, Paula Abdul being there isn’t sure.

Nicholas Cage

During the shoot of Nicolas Cage’s latest movie The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, things turned ugly and grew out of proportion when during the shooting of a car chase took an unexpected turn. It was early in the morning on Monday when the car bounced off the curb injuring a person and hitting one more on the streets of New York as confirmed by the Access Hollywood. On the site of The New York Post a video has been posted where in a car chase is seen on the 7th avenue at around Times Square vicinity in New York. As a matter of fact, the video has a chase scene between a Mercedes & a Ferrari.

The chase sequence got out of control when Ferrari swerved and hit a bystander on to the side walk. It knocked over the lamp post which in turn fell on the other person at the site. The chase sequence not only got ugly but seemed real too.

Tom Hanks

Not many people would be able to digest the fact that this year marks the 25th year of Tom Hank’s association with the acting profession. He was noticed in “Splash” and also contributed his acting talent that wasn’t noticed that well in Bachelor Party and He Knows You’re Alone in 1980.

With the success that “Splash” saw, it was clear that Tom Hanks was not a one film wonder star of “Bosom Buddies” he was an actor who could carry a movie on his own acting talent. Bachelor Party wasn’t that great a hit, but it showed that Tom could have his own version of sardonic humor that could turn the movie 360 degrees, delivering more than what the audiences would have expected of him. There after he took roles that were lighter and more comic. He also did the darker & dramatic roles as well.
