On meeting the young girls there, she felt the dire need for a proper institution where these girls could be educated so that they could serve their people and their nation in future. She wanted to give them opportunities; she had the faith that if given a chance they can become successful leaders, doctors, scientists and lawyers in future. She believed in them.

It was this belief in them that she decided to build an Academy for the underprivileged girls in Malawi. The foundation stone for ‘The Raising Malawi Academy for Girls,’ was laid down in a small ceremony attended by her children, including her adopted children, 4 year old David and Mercy aged 3 years. The Academy which will supposedly cost $15m, will take around 2 years to be completed.

She always wanted to do something for the underprivileged girls. In her words, “I realized how much they deserve to be educated and so for me the best thing I could do was to build a school, a unique school that will create future female leaders, scientists, lawyers and doctors. If this school is successful it will be used as a model to replicate it in other countries.”

By this charitable institution, she aims to provide free accommodation, education, food, clothes and all the basic essentials of life, to all the underprivileged children and orphans of Malawi. The school which is on the outskirts of Lilongwe, their capital, will accommodate 500 girls from the 28 districts of southern Africa.

The Head of the institution will be Anjimile Mtila Oponyo, an academician from Malawi.

Her trip included a meeting with President Bingu wa Mutharika, and a visit to the orphanages supported by her.

People are also interested to see what the celebrities do in their private lives. The power these kids would have being the child of such a celebrity wields enormously to them anyway. Their photos, being infants though, could double the sale of a magazine. What these kids wear become trends and the shots of their candid daily routine are sold for a fortune.

The list of Hollywood powerful mother not only includes Madonna’s name in there but apparently she tops it as well. Her parallel dollar inflow sums up to $110 millions in 2008. Her music is rocking; she has endorsements deals with Vodaphone, Louis Vuitton and Sunsilk. The movie “Four Christmases” that was screen last year with Vince Vaughn, earned $160 million across the globe. For Avon she is the international spokeswoman. Madonna played the character of Pepper Potts in “Iron Man,” which is a comic book film earned about $580 million across the world, got her name and fame as well. She files regular updates about herself at the goop.com for which she gets paid.

The list of the Hollywood Power Mom’s was complied keeping the earning of the celebrity moms. Clearly Madonna has won the race with the earnings she pocketed last year.

Madonna’s Adoption Case is catching up even more fire. The Malawi court began deliberating on the singer’s bid to legally adopt the three year of girl, Chifundo. The girl Madonna is intending to adopt is from a southern African country. The man, James Kambewa, is trying to refrain this adoption, is suspected to be the girl’s biological father. Madonna was reportedly in a closed-door hearing at the Malawi’s high court on Monday. The judgment however, is not expected soon. This is Madonna’s answer to the lower court’s judgment denying her the adoption of the three year old girl, the reason of adoption denial is that she is not screened by Malawi authorities over time.

The court added by pointing out the fact around Madonna’s son’s adoption. It claimed that the rules were staked when she adopted David (Madonna’s adopted son) last year from Malawi.

Alan Chinula, Madonna’s lawyer at the Malawi court is hopeful that they would win at the Malawi court, as she adds the reason of adoption denial to Madonna was due to the reliance on the outdated laws considered at the lower court.

The 50 year old pop star sported the girl at Kondanani Children’s Village in 2006, at Bvumbwe, a southern town to the capital of Blantyre. This was the same year that she adopted her son David.

James Kambewa blocking the 3 year old girl’s adoption is claiming to be the girl’s father; he reviled this to The Associated Press. He asked for help to stop the adoption form the Malawi Law Society on the same basis. Despite James Kambewa being poor, is claiming the custody of his daughter as his right. However, Chifundo’s mother’s brother denies knowing James Kambewa, as the reason why Chifundo was put into the orphanage was because there was no one to take care off her. Peter Baneti further adds that he as the representative of the family has agreed for Chifundo’s adoption where as James Kambewa is trying to reap gains from the situation.

Liz Rosenberg who is Madonna’s spokeswoman through an email communicated their dobts about James Kambewa being the father. She stated that the only thing they knew about Mercy (Chifundo) was that she has been in the orphanage from the time she was born.

James Kambewa, has been interviewed by multiple channels and he is been heard claiming for Chifundo’s custody. On one of the shows he was spotted wearing a necklace which said Chifundo.

Madonna on the other hand has stated “Raising Malawi” a charity initiative that would educate, feed and provide medical assistance & care for Malawi’s orphans.

The ink had been barely dry on the divorce papers when Madonna and A-Rod are keeping everyone’s tongues wagging with their latest offering. A-Rod enjoyed a good night out at Madonna’s concert and at one point handed her a bottle of chilled water during her performance.

It is not the first time A-Rod, whose real name is Alex Rodriguez, had an affair. But it was certainly the final nail in the coffin for his marriage with Cynthia.
